Freeman & Co Further Strengthens In-House Team

Celebrity lawyer Nick Freeman has further strengthened the in-house team at his Manchester practice with the appointment of a talented senior solicitor.

Damien Simmonds, who has spent his entire legal profession working in the North West, will work closely with “Mr Loophole” assisting him on road traffic cases, which is his particular speciality.

Damian Simmonds Joins Freeman & Co

Mr Freeman, who is the country’s most high-profile defence solicitor, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Damien to our growing team in what is proving to be one of our busiest years on record.

“Damien brings with him a wealth of experience gained from working at a number of well-known law firms in Manchester and Cheshire. Whilst he will work on a raft of different cases, the majority of his time will be devoted to those involving road traffic offences.”

Damien said: “Joining Freeman & Co gives me a golden opportunity to work with Nick, who is without a question the most influential defence lawyer in the country.

“I’m looking forward to not only learning from ‘the best of the best’, but also putting into practise everything I have learned over the last decade, to ensure Freeman & Co retains its position as the law firm of choice for clients based all over the country.”

Damien began his legal career more than a decade ago as a paralegal with a Cheshire firm devoted to motoring offences, where he assisted the solicitors preparing their files for trial and attending court to assist counsel.

A year later he joined a Manchester city law firm, and, in addition to working as a trainee solicitor, he began writing legal articles for a variety of motoring titles.

For the last two years, Damien has been an associate solicitor at another city law firm working in the Business Crime and Regulation team, where he was the dedicated motor defence specialist.

Prior to joining Freeman & Co, Damien was promoted to the position of senior associate, adding the role of business development to his impressive CV.
